romy Barra






           
Romy Barra(1996) is a painter and musician based in Montreal. She holds a BFA from Concordia University in Art History and Studio Arts (2018). Romy worked as an organizer and curator in Montreal's independent arts and music scenes before working as a studio assistant for intermedia artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer (2022). Her current body of work archives LGBTQIA+ subcultures in underground communities in Montreal. Romy currently has a solo exhibition on at Lopez in Montreal, an artists talk at KIN in spring of 2023, and group shows scheduled for the summer and fall of 2023.
